The Southern Missouri Rangers
are scouting for new members but you needn't be a member to shoot with
us. It is not crucial to have all the guns, gear and clothing to join us,
come to the match any way as new shooters are always welcomed. Cowboys
are a friendly group of people and will loan you what you need to step
back in time to the days of yesteryear. Just make an attempt to "dress
cowboy" and members of the club will be happy to get you started on the
trails of
Cowboy Action Shooting. You are invited to our monthly shoots held the fourth weekend of each month. We shoot both Sat. and Sun., two one day shoots. Shoot one or both days. A mandatory safety meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. and the match begins at 10:00a.m. SASS rules apply. A typical match has between 5 and 7 stages. The shooters fee is $10 for members or $15 for both days, spouses or children at $5 per day and $15 per day for nonmembers. Club membership is $25. a year. | Cowboy Action Shooting(CAS) is a wholesome sport in which the entire family can participate. Common interests lead to camaraderie and bonds in the family and community. Matches are fun and friendly, resulting in pleasant shooting experiences. Shooters compete under the guidelines of "The Spirit of the Game", which means that no one looks for ways to create an advantage, every one participates in the competition as requested and all respect the traditions and the Way of the Old West. |  |

Members are encouraged to join both SASS and the NRA. The SMR and SASS want participants in CAS to have fun, develop their shooting skills and enjoy the traditions and heritage of the Old West. Come on out for some shooting fun and friendship with a group of people where honor abounds and a handshake is a persons word. |
