The Southern Missouri Rangers are hosting the 2008 Show-Me Shootout at Ozark Shooters Sports Complex on Hwy. 65, 11 miles north of Branson, Mo.  Four days of cowboy-action bliss, with nightly entertainment, will begin October 23, 2008.  All side matches will be conducted on Thursday , with reentries permitted but only the first entry will count for score.  Side matches will include derringer, pocket pistol, fastest six gun, 22 cal. pistol & rifle, speed rifle, long range pistol cal. rifle, 100 and 300 yard long range big-bore single shot and repeater, shotgun (lever, pump, and double barrel), and a Josey Wales side match. 
There is NO additional cost for the side matches. 
One fee covers all !!.
         Ten stages will be shot Friday and Saturday 
with special team shoots on Sunday.  Shooting categories for men and women will include the following:  Traditional, Modern, Duelist, Gunfighter,  Frontier Cartridge, Frontier Cartridge Duelist, Senior Duelist, Frontiersman, Classic Cowboy, Classic Cowgirl, Forty-Niner, Senior, Silver Senior, Elder Statesman, Grand Dame, B Western,
Buckaroo(13 & under) and Young Gun(14-16). 
All SASS approved categories will be recognized during the presentation of plaques. 
Shooters must be SASS members to participate. 
All SASS  and SMR rules will apply.
RO Courses:  The Basic Range Operations and Range Officer Courses (RO I and RO II) will be offered on Thursday. 
The cost of the RO I course is $10, RO II is $25.

Range:  The stages will be set up at Ozark Shooters, which is a shooting facility known as a "shotgunner's paradise".  The complex is 11 miles north of Branson on 65 Highway just east of the hwy. 176 W.  junction, or 25 miles so. of Springfield, with easy access to country music and family entertainment.

Hotel:  Branson Towers has been selected as the host hotel, with  a shooter's price of  $51.95 a night.  A continental breakfast is included in the rate, and the hotel has an indoor pool and hot tub.   The hotel is located at 236 Shepherd of the Hills Expressway.   Reservations should be made directly through the hotel (800-683-1122 or 417-336-4500).  Be sure to mention the Southern Missouri Rangers to get the shooter's room rate, and reservations need to be made by Oct 1st to guarantee the rate.
 

 

Cowboy Social

 The Southern Missouri Rangers will host a Cowboy Social Friday night at the White House Theatre. Planned activities include music by Canadian recording artist Eli Barsi, costume contests, casino games by Casino Affairs, and drawings for door prizes.   A chuck wagon supper will be served at the social.

Eli Barsi is a singer, songwriter, western yodeler, musician, and entertainer.  She has been working as a professional musician for over 20 years.  Early in her career, she performed mainly in Canadian provinces.  After a few years of nonstop shows, she moved to Nashville where she honed her craft as a songwriter.  Eli was hired to perform with the legendary Sons of the Pioneers in 2002, and since this show, she has been based out of Branson.  Eli is a diverse artist that can include a variety of genres in her shows, including Western Roots, Gospel, New Country, Bluegrass, Classic Country, and Folk.  With a 3, 4, or 5 piece band or on stage alone with her guitar, Eli is a crowd pleaser...

Banquet

The Saturday banquet will be held at the White House Theatre.  The meal will be buffet style.  An awards ceremony will be conducted at the banquet.

Cost: $115 per shooter
 Young Guns$75-Buckaroos $60
The fee includes the following: 
all Shooting Contests,
all Side Matches, 
Lunch for three days,
A ticket to the Friday Night Cowboy Social & Chuck Wagon Supper
and a ticket for the Saturday evening banquet at the White House Theatre.
